Champagne & Bites.
As we've posted, we recently opened up a new location in Greektown; making it the newest and third addition to the Balisi family. So what would be a better way to welcome the new location than throw a fabulous launch party? It was quite the affair; complete with a red carpet, and lots of champagne flowing which had the guest saying Stin iyia mas! (Which is greek for CHEERS!) The guests had an amazing evening, listening to DJ Kostas and checking out the fabulous new store and even more impressive new summer collection. Check out some of the pictures below snapped that night, and visit us at the new location at 439 Danforth Avenue.

In the store front, interns Racquel & Dana took hold of the guestlist,
making sure only the elite attended.

Picnic Tables held the fabulous shoes and clothing, and served as a sitting area for guests. Kitschy, Chic and functional!

Yummy Yummy, Stud Muffin.

While studs may bring to mind teenage rebellion, with thoughts of metal heads of the 80’s and the Emo pre-teens of today, make no mistake in believing that the pyramid stud style is reserved for the teenage generation. These little metal embellishments have been sneaking their ways on to the hottest couture styles. Spotted on Mary-Kate in an oversized fashion on a Givenchy leather jacket; to more recently placed onto anything you could imagine at Balmain, and Carrie’s sexy Patricia Field Belt in the Sex and the City movie; it`s no question that studs are the new staple to achieving this season’s edgiest look. The key to pulling off the studs is by having one or two studded pieces in your outfit. Try mixing it with some girlish, feminine pieces giving you a pretty in punk look; or use them to bring some edge to your basic jeans and a white tee shirt. This way you’ll be sure to look chic without looking like a delinquent.

In the store we have an assortment of amazing studded pieces, from shoes to bags to belts, which can easily be incorporated into your current wardrobe without breaking the bank. Check out some of our hottest styles below and ideas on how you can pull off the trend.

If you’re looking to ease yourself into the trend, then a great place to start is with our Ciceco studded vest. With a suede like feel and minimal studding, it packs just enough punch to make a statement to any simple outfit. Try pairing it with a plain white tee or wife beater and some black skinny jeans; or try it with a simple day dress to give yourself an edge on your basic everyday outfit.

Some other great starter studded pieces are our Brave studded leather belt or cuff. Featuring both rounded and pyramid studs in solves and gold, these accessories are great ways to add some attitude to a simple dress on a night out on with the girls. The belt can be worn either around the waist or at the hip, and would look great at the waist with a full skirt and a sheer top.

These next pieces are the perfect mix of girlish charm with some punk attitude. The stud gets enlarged but toned down with delicate colours like pastel pink and cream on the Chinese Laundry Clutch and Hobo Bag. Although the clutch is usually unfairly reserved to be used during the evening or night, this clutch actually expands and is roomy enough to pack the usual lipstick, keys and money and be used during the day. Take it with you on shopping trips, and casual outings when you’re not looking to carry a whole lot with you, but still flaunt some style while doing it. Yet most of us ladies revert to carrying the kitchen sink and then some with us when we leave the house. For those of you who do, then the hobo is definitely your bag. Still featuring the gorgeous stud work, it has the space to hold whatever you need on your day to day rituals but can easily be taken from the office to your evening dinner.

This shoe is just what you’ve been looking for if you’re looking to show some serious attitude; but be warned, this shoe is only for the fearless fashionistas who are willing to take compliments left right and centre. The amazing “Tammy” by Modern Vintage wedge is a one of a kind shoe that is so killer chic, that it’s deadly. With an ankle strap supporting an impressive display of studs along the front of the foot and creamy leather material in white or black, this shoe will be the showstopper within any outfit. Use it amplify a brightly coloured shirt dress or to steal the spotlight with a plain white high waisted skirt.

So come check out the styles in the and you’ll be sure leave with some sexy stud styles that will have you feeling wild.

Think what that money could bring,I’d buy everything. Clean out Vivienne Westwood...
That carnal craving for couture is a familiar feeling that I’m sure we all share. Just the sight of those delicious 2.55 quilted Chanel handbags is enough to make me want to drop a month’s rent on them! Unfortunately in this economy, designer duds are becoming farther and farther from being a reasonable buy.

But luckily for you, in store we have just the remedy to cure your designer fix. One of our favourite designers, the eccentric Vivienne Westwood, has teamed with Melissa shoes to create an amazing line of shoes. The designs are quirky, edgy and fun, much like the Ms. Westwood herself; and like all the shoes from the Melissa line are in produced in rubber resulting in some gorgeous footwear that will be nice to your feet. The best part is that these great shoes won’t burn a hole in your pocket, with the prices staying under $150, a great price for designer pieces that you didn’t find in Chinatown!

If you’re looking something casual to wear everday, then the Tristrap is just for you! With three sexy straps gracing your ankle, who said flats couldn’t be fun? The Tristrap comes in black and copper, ensuring you’ll always something to pair with his fun flat. Wear it with your cutest shorts and listen for the whistles you’ll get treading Queen street.

So come in and check out our Vivienne Westwood Anglomania + Melissa collection, and indulge in some luxe footwear your feet will thank you for!
